SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (FOX 11) - School starts Monday for students in San Bernardino at North Park Elementary School and there will be many changes when students arrive today, four months after a shooting that left a teacher and one student dead.
The shooting happened in April, when Cedric Anderson walked into his estranged wife's classroom and opened fire without saying a word, killing her and an 8-year-old student before killing himself.
Among the changes students will see Monday, is a new color scheme inside and out, new walls and doors and a new security system. There is now a camera alert system where staff can buzz in visitors and finger printing for volunteers at the school.
The school district says that counselors will be on hand today.
