New five cat law for Los Angeles

L-A city and county officials are both taking action to cut down on the number of cats that are euthanized at animal shelters. The L-A City Council has given tentative approval to an ordinance that will allow residents to keep as many as five cats as pets that's up from the current limit of three.

Meanwhile, the county has voted to require residents in unincorporated areas to spay or
neuter their pets and have them micro-chipped.
