Mike Trout, Angels finalizing record 12-year, $430 million contract: Report

Center fielder Mike Trout has reportedly reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Angels, finalizing the details Tuesday of a 12-year deal worth more than $430 million, according to ESPN.

The agreement is said to be the largest contract in professional sports history.

The two-time American League MVP will receive an average of nearly $36 million a year, according to ESPN.

As part of the deal, the Angels will replace the final two seasons of his six-year, $144.5 million deal with the new 12-year deal through the 2030 season, sources reportedly told ESPN.

Trout led the majors last season in on-base percentage (.460) while hitting .312 with 39 home runs and 79 RBIs.
