LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - It's standing room only according to Expo and Gold line passengers who ride during rush hour.
Big relief is in sight for riders, according to Metro's CEO Philip Washington. More cars will be added to the lines very soon.
Passengers complained about overcrowding of the two car trains even before the extension to Santa Monica.
Once the seven new stations opened in May, ridership increased and trains are more crowded than ever.
Metro is hoping the Japan based contractor producing the cars will deliver more of them at a faster rate.
The cars have to be tested here in LA before being put into service.
