Man's body found in burned vehicle near Loyola Marymount University

A 19-year-old man's burned body was found inside a vehicle Thursday near Loyola Marymount University, and his death was being investigated as a suicide, police said.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a car fire shortly before 2:15 a.m. in the area of Loyola and Lincoln boulevards, according to Sgt. Chris Jordan of the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division. When the fire was put out, firefighters discovered the charred body inside the vehicle, Jordan said.

LAPD Officer Mike Lopez said the death was being investigated as a suicide, and the man had no connection to LMU.
