Man changing flat tire on 210 Freeway killed by hit-and-run driver

FONTANA (FOX 11) - A driver was struck and killed by a hit and run driver early Sunday on the 210 Freeway near Fontana, authorities said.

Police said the driver was outside the vehicle changing a flat tire when he was struck by an SUV at about 3:45 a.m. near the Cherry Avenue exit ramp.

Further details were not immediately available.

The California Highway Patrol closed the Eastbound Cherry Ave. exit while they conducted the investigation.
