Man and teen boy killed, another man wounded in Azusa shootings

- A man and a teenage boy were killed and another man wounded in a pair of shootings Tuesday night in Azusa, sheriff's officials said.

Gunshots were reported just after 10 p.m. near the 600 block of East 6th Street and North Rockvale Avenue. Officers found a male victim, believe to be around 16-years-old, dead at the scene.

Approximately 100 yards away, two men were also found shot, authorities said. One was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other was taken to a nearby hospital.

After interviewing witnesses, homicide detectives said they believe the two adult men confronted the teenage victim. The suspects fired several rounds at the victim, striking him at least once in the upper torso, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The men fled the area on foot and were shot by a third unknown suspect, killing one of them and injuring the other, authorities said.

The shooting remained under investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident was urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or submit information anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
