Suspect breaks into home in Brentwood while homeowner, teen sleeps

Police are searching for a male suspect who they say broke into a home in Brentwood overnight as the female homeowner and her teenage daughter were asleep.

The homeowner says she believes the suspect checked the kitchen for her purse and keys and then made his way to her bedroom when he didn't find anything.

It happened around 1:30 Friday morning at a home in Brentwood when police say the suspect broke a glass sliding door at the back of the home and then entered a woman's bedroom while she was sleeping..

The woman woke up and asked the suspect what he was doing. He then allegedly shouted at her before fleeing with her purse.

The victim says her stolen credit card was used shortly after at a 7-Eleven.

Authorities believe the suspect was not armed and they are working to find out if he is the same person who forced his way into another home under construction nearby.
