Los Angeles ranks fourth most bedbug-infested city in America

- Angelenos tucking themselves into bed tonight might want to check their mattresses thoroughly, as the pest control company Orkin ranked L.A. the fourth-most bedbug-infested city in America.
Los Angeles moved up two spots from last year on the annual itch-inducing list, with Baltimore topping the rankings for the second year in a row.
Washington, D.C., was second and Chicago was third in the top 50 list of bedbug-infested metropolises, while other California cities on the list include San Francisco (9th) and San Diego (41st).
Bedbugs are parasitic insects that feed on blood from humans and warm-blooded animals to survive and often live in mattresses or other areas near a bed, although they can be found in other parts of buildings as well.
