Legendary Record Company Is Run By Lots of Women

"I'm a bad B!" That is how Motown music exec Zeena Koda describes herself. Koda is one of the many women working at this legendary label. Even its president is a woman!

Koda is the Digital Marketing Director for one of America's leading labels. The sassy exec is full and laughter and force. She credits her east coast upbringing for the force part!

In a black dress with a tattooed arm and red lips, Koda may just be an artist's best friend. She helps push their product on sites like Spotify.

Michelle Thomas is Senior VP of Marketing and Operations. She has a great appreciation for the legacy created by Berry Gordy. Motown gave us Smokey Robinson, The Supremes, The Jackson Five.

Thomas says she loves the biz, loves helping artists reach the dreams. Keep an eye out for singers like Malachiae Warren, rapper BJ The Chicago Kid, and sibling trio James Davis.

Both Thomas and Koda feel they have to be a little more forceful than men to earn credibility. They've certainly earned the respect of their boss. At the helm of Motown is a woman, Ethiopia Habtemariam. You go girls!
