2 missing Boyle Heights teens found unharmed, police say

Two teenagers who went missing in Boyle Heights were found unharmed early Thursday, police said.

A search for the 14-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl, who are believed to be dating, was launched after their parents discovered them missing from their homes along with some clothes and their bicycles.

"They made statements on their Instragram accounts indicating a desire to leave Los Angeles by train,'' according to the Los Angeles Police Department. "They made additional statements on Instragram that have caused their families to be concerned about their state of mind and their safety.''

The teens were found safe about 12:30 a.m. in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, according to the LAPD Hollenbeck Division. They were brought to the Hollenbeck station to be reunited with their families, police said.
