LAPD officers arrest barricaded man for shooting at stripper

Police Thurday arrested a possibly armed man who barricaded himself in a residential building southeast of Hollywood for hours.

Officers went to the 1200 block of North Edgemont Street at about 4:45a.m. on a report of shots fired, said Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman.

A man who might have fired the shots was thought to be barricaded in a nearby building, which was surrounded by officers, Eisenman said. No injuries were reported.

The man was taken into custody at about 9 a.m., police said. His name was not immediately released.

The situation caused traffic around the east end of Sunset and Santa Monica boulevards to be jammed even more than usual for this morning's commute.
