LAPD arrested a woman on Monday who is possibly connected to a recent string of arson fires in the North Hollywood area.
Police confirmed they took 35-year-old Angelina McWhirther into custody on unrelated warrants while her possible role in the arsons is investigated.
A woman matching McWhirther's description was caught on surveillance video setting a truck on fire behind the A1 Home Improvement store at 12004 Victory Blvd.
The store’s owner of more than 30 years, Rick Moran, told FOX 11 he immediately contacted law enforcement when he saw the video.
“LAFD had four arson investigators out here for four hours taking a look at it,” he said. “They finally said okay we have enough to take care of her, then they said as soon as we’re done here, we’re going over there to nail her to the wall with the evidence that they have from this.”
A string of several arson fires were set earlier the same morning near his business.
At least three trees were set on fire, which damaged multiple vehicles.
McWhirther was arrested on an outstanding warrant of bribing contraband into a jail, but she has not yet been charged in connection with the arsons.
Nobody answered the door when FOX 11 stopped by her last listed address in West Hills.
