Is your pet properly licensed and vaccinated?

LOS ANGELES, CA (FOX 11/CNS) - Los Angeles County animal-control officers will visit homes in unincorporated areas near La Puente, Claremont, La Verne, Glendora, San Dimas and West Covina beginning on Wednesday to ensure residents' pets are properly licensed.

Field enforcement officers from county Department of Animal Care and Control will be checking to ensure that dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and properly vaccinated. California law requires that all dogs and cats over the age of four months be licensed and vaccinated.

Residents found to be in violation of the regulations can be subject to license fees, delinquency charges and a $40 field enforcement fee.

Information about licensing fees, along with a printable pet-licensing application, is available at www.animalcare.lacounty.gov. The website also has information for residents about getting pets micro-chipped, vaccinated or spayed/neutered. Information is also available at county animal care centers.
