Huge tree topples onto home, street in Studio City

A family in Studio City feels lucky to be alive after a massive tree came crashing down Wednesday onto their home.

The incident was reported in the 4300 block of Bluebell Avenue and was captured on surveillance video.

No injuries were reported, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters believed the tree came down because of the rain. The tree smashed into the house, took out a car and demolished a neighbor's fence.

City crews were able to chop the tree up into pieces and pile up the debris, making the road accessible.

The tree was the fifth tree in the area to come crashing down in recent years.
