Heated argument between Vons manager and store employee caught on video

A grocery store argument between a district manager and union representative gets hostile when one side says they were assaulted. And it's all caught on video!

It was a heated argument in front of a Vons freezer.

A grocery store argument between a district manager and union representatives gets hostile when one side says they were assaulted.

The union representative says they came out here after several employees complained about safety issues.

A union employee caught an encounter discussing a congestion issue they say forced an employee to climb over pallets blocking a doorway. The union identifies the man in the video as a district manager, who at one point, is seen closing the door on the union worker.

The manager walks away, appearing to shove a cell phone out of second union representatives' hands.

The union worker filming repeats "that is assault."

A union representative from UFCW 324 tells us over the phone.

"Because Albertsons has a zero tolerance policy on employee assault, I hope they will be consistent with past action where termination has been their judgement."

A spokesperson from Von's parent company tells us in part,
"We are concerned by the contents of a video recording reportedly filmed in one of our locations. We are investigating the situation and will take necessary action. We have strict safety and behavior policies and have no tolerance for mistreatment of any individual."

Vons shoppers we spoke to say the district manager went too far.

"When the guy slapped it out of his hands, I don't think that was pretty cool. If the employees have safety issues, they need to be checked out and dealt with," said shopper Matt Lidyoff.

He kinda went on a power trip like he went a little crazy with it....there was a better way to do it," said Vons shopper Casey Jacob.
