Drone hits power lines in West Hollywood; Causes power outage

A power outage, possibly caused by a drone, knocked out electrical service to nearly 200 Southern California Edison customers in West Hollywood this afternoon.

The outage, which began about 1:15 p.m., affected 187 customers on Larrabee Street north of Sunset Boulevard, SCE spokesman David Song said.

Preliminary information indicated a drone had struck some of the utility's equipment in the area, Song said.

Power wasn't expected to be restored until about 10 p.m., he said.
