Decomposed bodies of man and woman found in Hacienda Heights home

An investigation was underway Thursday into the suspicious deaths of a man and woman in a Hacienda Heights home.

The deaths in the 16600 block of Carriage Place were reported at 4:13p.m. Wednesday, said Deputy Ryan Rouzan of the Los Angeles County sheriff's Information Bureau said.

Both victims, an 84 year-old woman, and an unidentified man, appeared to have been assaulted, Rouzan said.

The female victim appeared to be the owner of the house, Rouzan said.

She had not been seen for a week, and deputies went to the address to conduct a welfare check.

The victims were found in separate parts of the residence, where there had been some attempt to clean up, according to broadcast reports from the scene.

The woman lived at the residence with her adult son, but he was in custody and not at home at the time of the incident, Rouzan said.

The victim's car, a beige Toyota Camry, license number 7LXV190, was missing from the residence and is regarded as stolen, Rouzan said.
