ATWATER VILLAGE, Calif. (FOX 11) - A man just looking for a romantic evening with a woman instead became the victim of a violent home invasion robbery in Atwater Village.
Jay Rothenberg says he invited a woman to his apartment and it turned into the woman setting him up.
He says the attack happened shortly after he arrived home with the woman. He says three men stormed inside, hit him with a gun and forced him to the ground and tied him up.
The woman left with the assailants who allegedly took cash and other belongings.
Police are checking to see if a security camera in the apartment complex caught any of the suspects.
Rothenberg is a Lyft driver and says he met the woman on the job and communicated with her for some time and even helped her out with money.
