Cresenta Valley Dog Park closed after reports of dogs getting sick

A popular dog park is closed disappointing dog owners and their four legged friends.

Apparently dogs were getting sick after visiting the park.

The signs read the park is closed due to maintenance, but dog owners heard something else.

The LA County Veterinary Public Health Department is investigating the complaints of one dog owner who's dog initially developed a cough after visiting the park and then, three other dogs owned by the same person developed a cough.

Veterinarian Edward Fries says upper respiratory infections or kennel cough is common this time of year, not just from dog parks but also boarding kennels.

The viruses can be transmitted from dog to dog, but the common water bowl might also be to blame.
