Coachella organizer to bring music festival to Rose Bowl in Pasadena

A new music festival is coming to Southern California. The Pasadena City Council has approved a three-day music and arts festival to take place at the Rose Bowl.

Local newsmagazine Pasadena Now reports the festival will be produced by Anschutz Entertainment Group, which also produces Coachella in Indio.

The summer festival will be called the Arroyo Seco Music and Arts Festival and is expected to begin in 2017.

The paper also reports the multi-year agreement between the Rose Bowl Operating Company and AEG could earn the city of Pasadena more than $90 million.
