(FOX 11) - The City of Industry is bucking the cannabis craze and banning the sale, cultivation and distribution of marijuana.
The city already bans medical marijuana dispensaries.
California voters approved the legalization of recreational cannabis and that law goes into effect January first. It is expected to bring in a billion dollars a year in tax revenue to the state.
None of that will go to the City of Industry though.
City council members say until there's a system in place to track marijuana through the distribution chain.
The risk of crime is too great.
