Californians get time off work to vote

Did you know in California that you are officially allowed time off to vote?

Voter advocates say that is an important fact that we all need to be aware of as we head into election day. 
But first, If you're voting by mail today is the deadline to apply for your ballot.

Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before election day. 

California also has a three-day grace period, so if your ballot arrives three days later it will be counted.

And as for getting time off to vote...

The US Postal Service is urging Californians not to procrastinate. 

In fact, they want California voters to drop those vote-by-mail ballots in the mailbox a full week before November 8.

Which means today.
