Bomb threat but no explosives found at Locke High School

Authorities on Friday searched the campus of Locke High School in the south Los Angeles area after a bomb threat was received, but no explosives were found.

The threat was received about 7 a.m., and prompted authorities to secure the campus at San Pedro and 111th streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A bomb squad searched the campus for about three hours, and no explosives were found, police said.

Classes were canceled for the day, but the school's prom was still set for tonight.
