Bomb Squad in Fullerton destroy 'pipe-like device'

The discovery of a "pipe-like device'' Monday in Fullerton prompted the evacuation of some homes in the area and a call to a sheriff's bomb squad, police said.

Police were called at 8:42 a.m. about the pipe in the 3100 block of Euclid Street, according to Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus.

Bomb squad deputies were on site as of noon working to render it safe, Radus said.

"We would like to remind the public that if you see something, say something,'' he said. "This is a perfect example of someone seeing something that didn't seem right and contacting police.''
