Big rig crash and fuel spill slows traffic on NB 710 Freeway near East LA

A collision involving two big rigs Friday resulted in a diesel fuel spill and prompted closure of the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in the East Los Angeles area, authorities said.

The crash occurred 4:30 a.m. at Third Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. No one was injured.

Traffic was diverted off of the northbound freeway at the Pomona (60) Freeway while crews worked to clear the scene. Two northbound lanes were reopened about 8:20 a.m., the CHP reported.
