Bicyclist killed by hit-and-run driver in Fountain Valley

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. (FOX 11) - Police were searching Wednesday for the driver of a red Ford sedan with front-end damage after a bicyclist was struck and killed in Fountain Valley.

The crash was reported just before 1 a.m. on Brookhurst Street, just south of Ellis Avenue. The man on the bicycle was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

All northbound lanes were closed during the investigation.

Fountain Valley police were hoping to get more clues from area businesses' surveillance video.
