Beverly Hills road testing in wake of deadly accidents

Loma Vista Drive in Beverly Hills will undergo brief road closures on Wednesday April 20 for court-ordered road testing.

The testing was mandated as part of legal litigation over a series of deadly truck accidents on the steep terrain of Loma Vista Drive.

The three deadly crashes that have occurred in the past two years involved cement mixers and other heavy trucks. In 2014, the city of Beverly Hills issued new weight and inspection regulations for heavy trucks on Loma Vista, citing "a critical public safety issue."

This scanning will begin at the top of Loma Vista Drive at 6:30 a.m. and will finish by 10:30 a.m. The testing on April 20 will involve a concrete truck driving up and down Loma Vista Drive, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
