Bank robbery probe leads to 35 neglected dogs in Corona

An investigation of a bank robbery leads to the discovery of more than 30 abused dogs in Corona.

These are some of the 35 neglected dogs corona police found in a house on North Vicentia avenue in Corona on Wednesday.

Police say the dogs including seven puppies lived among feces-covered floors and several were emaciated and appeared diseased.

One of the dogs had open wounds and had to be euthanized.

The dogs were kept by 72-year-old Robert Bustamante Flores.

Police were searching his house in connection with a Corona bank robbery probe.

Flores was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Whether he will be arrested on suspicion of cruelty remains to be seen.

The dogs are now being cared for at the Corona Animal Shelter.
