LOS ANGELES (CNS / FOX 11) - Police went door-to-door Saturday in Watts searching for a suspects, including one who fired at officers, after four people fled from a vehicle.
No officers were injured, Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section said.
Officers spotted a motorist driving erratically about 7:40 a.m. in the area of Compton Avenue and 109th Street, Herrera said.
At some point the driver was arrested and three other occupants inside the vehicle fled on foot, she said. During the foot pursuit, a suspect allegedly fired upon officers.
Herrera later said that only two suspects remained outstanding, but according to a report from the scene, all but one of the suspects had been caught.
As SWAT officers conducted the suspect search, Metro buses on Line 55 were detoured via Central Avenue between 103rd Street and Imperial Highway, officials said.
