Authorities release composite sketch of El Monte attempted rape suspect

EL MONTE, Calif. (FOX 11) - An attempted sexual assault and kidnapping of a young woman on an El Monte street corner was captured on video and on Tuesday, police released a composite sketch of the suspect.

The man is described as being 5-feet 7-inches tall weighing 190 pounds with brown eyes, between 30-40 years old.

The attack happened at about midnight on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019 near the intersection of Tyler Avenue and Brockway Street.

Video surveillance shows the 18-year-old woman on the sidewalk when the man ran up behind her. He tackled her to the ground and dragged her around the corner out of sight of the camera. She fought back and got away before calling police, according to authorities.

Police say the man may be driving a white or light-colored four-door sedan.
