Authorities investigate deadly shooting in Florence

FLORENCE, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in Florence Tuesday night.

Deputies have taped off the immediate area as they protect the crime scene. Homicide detectives are on scene.

The shooting was reported at about 7:34 p.m. in the 8100 block of South Central Avenue. A male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Sheriff's officials said. The identity of the victim was not immediately known.

Authorities have not released a description of the gunman. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
