At least one person hurt in North Hollywood shooting

Shots rang out Monday evening in North Hollywood sending at least one person to the hospital and prompting a police investigation.

The incident occurred in the area of Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Sylvan Street shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Los Angeles police say one person was shot in the lower extremities. Their condition is unknown.

The suspect reportedly confronted the victim while they were inside their car just before bullets began flying. Authorities continue searching for the gunman.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related.
