SANTA MONICA, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - A person suspected of fatally shooting a victim on Friday in Santa Monica was critically wounded in a subsequent officer-involved shooting, police said.
The first shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. in the area of Main and Strand streets, according to Santa Monica police.
Officers spotted a person matching a description of the suspect in the area of Second Street and Hollister Avenue and an officer-involved shooting occurred, police said.
The suspect was critically wounded and a firearm was recovered nearby, according to police.
