Actress Amber Heard files restraining order against Johnny Depp

Actress Amber Heard filed court papers today seeking a restraining order against her estranged husband, Johnny Depp, alleging she has been the victim of domestic violence.

Heard filed for divorce from Depp on Monday, citing irreconcilable differences.

Heard and her attorney went to court in downtown Los Angeles today to apply for a restraining order, presenting a photo of herself with a bruise on her face that she claims was inflicted during a fight on Saturday, the website
TMZ reported.

Heard was still at the courthouse late this morning, awaiting word whether Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Carl Moor would rule on her request or take the issue under submission.

According to the TMZ report, Heard alleges that Depp struck her in the face with his iPhone in the altercation, during which he shattered various items around their home.

There was no immediate response from Depp, 52, who is busily promoting his latest film, "Alice Through the Looking Glass,'' which opened today.

Responding to the divorce filing, a representative for Depp told E! News: "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories,
gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.''

Depp and Heard, 30, met on the set of "The Rum Diary'' and were married in February 2015. It's Depp's second marriage.
