A Princess Factory: Visiting Meghan Markle's alma mater in Los Feliz

A "Princess Factory." That's what one student lovingly calls her high school. Reason, it's Meghan Markle's alma mater.

Markle is the Los Angeles girl who will soon marry into British royalty. Markle attended Immaculate Heart Catholic School For Girls. The school in Los Feliz certainly has new found fame.

Sixth grader Emma Young says "my dad always jokes that you made it in time, because now it is like a princess factory." Markle spent 7th through 12 grade at the college prep school and was active in theater. She went on to a successful career as an actress starring in the series Suits.

Young students attending there now shared their thoughts on their famous alum. Presley Henderson said "We learn how to be proper here. We have good manners, they teach us how to be kind to one another."

Siena Michaelis says "You can be very confident because it is a girls school and I definitely have a voice here." The motto "to create young women of great heart and right conscience."

Teacher Christine Knudsen taught Markle, class of 1999 and recommended her for a peer led senior retreat called Kyros. Like all of the students here student Evi Scura says "We do service hours, and give back. And that's what she does now."

Markle, an American, a commoner, an actress, is 36. Prince Harry is 33. She's divorced, and bi-racial. In school she received a commendation "for outstanding black American students." Student, Samara Holloway, is African-American, and finds her own inspiration in Markle. Holloway wants to be in the medical field. Other students are inspired by Markle to find their own success. One wants to be a comedian, another a veterinarian. The Student Body President, Mia Speier wants to work in government.
