A happy ending to a long-lost dog story

Almost one year ago, on June 26th, 2015, Striker went missing. Striker is a full bred Siberian Husky. Jonathan Arteaga got him when Striker was only 2 months so, it's easy to understand how bad Arteaga felt when his best buddy got out an open gate and got away. He didn't too far when a neighbor down the street saw him and tried to help Striker, but at that point someone in a car pulled up and told the neighbor that was his dog, took hi m and fled.

Arteaga put up posters with pictures of Striker and then got connected with a rescue group called Designer Dogs. They suggested he set up a Facebook page to take the search to social media. He did. That led to the missing posters getting wider exposure.

Tuesday morning, Arteaga got a call from Xazmin Gallegos in Palmdale. She told him she had Striker. How he got from Van Nuys to Palmdale is a mystery to Arteaga, but one that that was clear… when the two saw each other after 12 long months striker went wild. The way Arteaga puts it "he lost his mind and went crazy when he saw me!"

Striker never had a microchip. His 24-year old owner says it's because he didn't understand the registration process and never got one. Now, he will. And, now there is a new Facebook page!

A happy reunion after a year of 'Looking for Striker!
