Powerball player spends $3,000 on tickets in Burbank

Powerball players tried their luck again Wednesday for 1.5 billion dollars.

At Bluebird in Hawthorne, players wrapped around the store and down the block. Many others tried their luck at the West Olive 7-11 in Burbank.

Exciting, but the owner's daughter says she doesn't believe the sales make up for labor costs. They've added 3-4 extra workers just because of Powerball.

They even have a system to make the line move faster for non-Powerball customers.

"We have two options, we let customers know if they're buying food they can go first," says a store employee.

Workers are placing their bets on their customers, hoping the more tickets they buy, the greater their odds for getting a percentage of a win.

Richard Allen is a player man is increasing the 7-11's odd's for a big cut. He bought 1600 tickets. So many, that his biggest problem now, is how he'll sort through them.

"I haven't even thought about that yet," said Allen.
