The natural gas/methane leak has upset many in Porter Ranch. Homeowner Christine Katz says, “I’m disgusted. I’m heartbroken.” Her 5 kids and husband have all experienced some impact from the leak. Her two-and-a-half year old Ava has had a difficult series of health issues and, as a result the family filed a lawsuit Friday against Southern California Gas.

Their attorney, Patricia Oliver, says “Her suit is because her family is adversely impacted to the point that her two and a half year old daughter was in the ICU for 4 days.” Says Ava’s mom Christine, “She had a seizure… she had been sick for two weeks… in and out of urgent care… doctors offices…  couldn’t figure out what was wrong with her and she got sick had a seizure and was in the hospital for four days.”

Southern California Gas continues to apologize for the leak. The company says the gas is non-toxic and quotes the LA County Public Department that has said there will be no long lasting effects.

The company has been relocating customers to hotels.
