APPS and All Things El Niño in the OC and LA County

On our Friday Night Special 2230: El Niño The Coming Storm the Director of LA County's Office of Emergency Management said it's important for all of us to do our He talked about checking our rain gutters, area drains and rooftops. He also mentioned the county's apart. He talked about the county's app The Works. 

This is an app, available at the iPhone APP Store and Google Play, that has been a place for people to report potholes, graffiti and such things as incidents of illegal dumping. Now, Director Jeff Reeb says it will have an eye toward El Niño needs as well.

Another source in LA County for all things El Niño is https://www.lacounty.gov/elnino. There are many resources there.

Also, on the program, OC's Director of Public Works Shane Silsby reiterated the need for the public to do its part and said it has many web resources as well. You can get notified of emergencies in the county's mass notification program by phone, text, email or TTD/TTY by registering at www.alertoc.com.www.alertoc.com.

Both Counties have multi-department task forces that meet regular to plan for oncoming inclement weather.
