405 north connector to 105 east near LAX will be closed for several months

A major traffic headache could be in store for freeway commuters in the El Segundo/LAX area beginning Wednesday night, when Caltrans closes the ramp connecting the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway with the
eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway -- a closure that will last for several months.

Caltrans officials said the ramp will remain closed through winter as crews conduct roadway and embankment repair on the connector.

Motorists needing to connect between the freeways are being advised to exit the northbound 405 at Imperial Highway and head east to enter the eastbound 105 at Freeman Avenue.

As part of the project, the ramp from the northbound 405 to the westbound 105 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. three nights next week --Sept. 27-29. Motorists affected by that closure should also exit the northbound
405 at Imperial Highway and head west.
