Scaramucci drops out of Pasadena's Politicon convention

- New White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci has backed out of Pasadena's Politicon convention on Saturday, where he was booked for a speaking segment.

"I woke up this morning and found out," said Simon Sidi, Politicon's founder. "We read it online this morning, we checked and double checked, and yeah he dropped out, we had booked him a long time ago, but now that he has this new position, I think we were probably half expecting it."

Sidi describes Politicon as a nerdfest for political junkies, and said the event is still loaded with big names like Tomi Lahren, Jake Tapper, and Chelsea Handler.

Around 8,000 people are expected to show up.

"He's now the White House communications director, I think he's probably got quite a lot on his plate," Sidi said. "They said he was very busy, so we respect that, he seems like a very busy guy."

Larry Holly, a Trump supporter who is attending Politicon on Saturday, was disappointed to hear the news.

"I was looking forward to hearing what he had to say, trump is just too abrupt for me sometimes, even my friends, there's things I don't like about him," Holly said. "Trump is too outspoken sometimes, he should keep things more private."

As for Politicon, the show will go on. With, or without "The Mooch".

"Look, you book people, sometimes they drop out, it happens, it's the nature of the business," Sidi said.
