LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A couple armed with a sawed off shotgun reportedly led police on a high-speed chase after allegedly robbing as many as seven different people in the Los Angeles area.
Police said a man and woman in a black Prius marked with an Uber sticker went on a robbery spree, beginning 11 p.m. Wednesday and ending around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. They were located near the intersection of Sunset and Bates, attempting another robbery, police said.
The couple fled, hitting speeds at more than 100 miles per hour, and took the 5 Freeway into Anaheim. Police said the suspects crashed in the city of Orange and attempted to flee on foot.
Both were eventually taken into custody. The vehicle was located with a large amount of stolen goods, including phones and wallets.
The shotgun has not been located at this time.
The Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division is investigating.
