Local community comes together to honor LA philanthropist EJ Jackson

For decades, many families enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal together because of the kindness of community philanthropist EJ Jackson.

Family, friends, staff, volunteers, the community-at-large, and local dignitaries will now unite to celebrate the life of beloved community hero, EJ Jackson, Founder of Jackson Limousine Service and The EJ Jackson Foundation whose Annual Turkey & Grocery Giveaway has fed thousands of needy LA-area individuals and families in its 33-year history.

On Monday morning, the life of the late owner of Jackson Limousine Service is being celebrated as he is laid to rest.

Among the guests in attendance to honor Jackson include retired congresswoman Diane Watson, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, actor Sidney Poitier and talk show host Tavis Smiley.

The service will take place at the Crenshaw Christian Center Faith Dome, 7901 S. Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.

This year's 34th Annual Turkey & Grocery Giveaway will go on as planned on November 22nd.  For details, visit www.theejjacksonfoundation.com
