The Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public's help in providing any information that would lead to the identification of the suspect involved in a hit and run collision which left a 42-year-old woman severely injured.

On August 21, 2016, around 9:25 p.m., the victim was involved in a 3-vehicle traffic accident on La Brea Avenue, north of Olympic Boulevard.  After the traffic accident, the victim exited her vehicle and walked over to a Gray/Silver possible Ford Escape and spoke with the driver.

While speaking with the driver, he accelerated away from the scene as the victim was holding onto the driver side window, causing her to fall onto the roadway hitting her head.  The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid to the victim, or identify themselves, as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she is being treated for severe traumatic head injury.

Witnesses described the driver-suspect as a male Hispanic with brown hair and in his late 30's.

On August 31, 2016, while inspecting the victim's white Toyota Camry, an imprint of a license plate number 5TFY382 was obtained from the left rear corner bumper.  This license plate number returns to a Mazda Tribute with a person of interest in the name of Rene Milton Guzman Jr.
