19 schools in Orange County without AC amid heat wave

19 schools in Orange County have classrooms that don't have A.C. amid a heat wave that's sweeping Southern California.

Officials say its mainly due to a lack of funding and say that they have a plan in place.

But some parents are concerned as an excessive heat warning continues through Saturday in Orange County.

The Garden Grove Unified School District sent a letter to parents as students returned to school this week suggesting kids wear light and loose fitting clothing, bring water bottles to class and avoid strenuous activity.

The district says it plans to have AC in all its schools in a few years, but some parents say that's not soon enough.

We spoke with one parent who said it was about 96 degrees in his daughter's classroom and while the rooms do have fans they are just blowing hot air around.
