Students of Brentwood private school accused of racism

With a tuition of nearly 40-thousand dollars a year and famous alumni such as actor Jonah Hill and the Schwarzenegger children. Brentwood school is about as upscale as you can get. So when the video was released it caused quite a controversy.

The video posted on Youtube has some people crying racism. A :09 second clip that appears to show white students from upscale Brentwood private school at an off campus party singing lyrics to a popular rap song that demeans women and repeatedly uses the N-word.

"They were just singing a song but,  I don't think it's ok for anyone to say the word if they aren't black... It's definitely a sensitive situation." said one 10th grade student who wanted to remain anonymous.

Baseball player Barry Bonds daughter attends the school and he sent out a tweet in response to the video saying:

" I  am sad that  I  had to see this at my daughter's school. #racism #fixit #suspension

The video, posted by the group 'Brentwood Students Against Racism' also started this petition on change.Org urging the school to take action against what they call the racist behavior of Brentwood students.

The group says the school has shown apathy towards racial issues and students and faculty have taken actions in the past that could be considered racially insensitive.

But many commenters on the you tube page say they're not offended by the video... Calling it much ado about nothing and even calling out the rapper for making a song with such inflammatory and explicit lyrics.

The school says its investigating the incident and will use it to further dialogue about diversity and what it means to students.

No word if any disciplinary action will be taken against any of the students in the video.
