NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - An Orange County strip of beach goes to the dogs...
O.C. supervisors signed off on allowing people to let their dogs run off leash along a small inlet along the end of the Santa Ana River on Newport Beach's northern border.
Dog owners have discretely used it as "dog beach" for some forty years...now it's "officially" the second dog beach in Orange County.
The new ordinance -- exempting the beach strip from the county leash law -- goes into effect in May.
