Customer Claims to Find Deep-Fried Rat in Chicken Order

Devorise Dixon says that what he bit into when he ordered his regular three-piece Chicken Tender Five Dollar Fill Up at KFC was not chicken. He said it was tough and rubbery. He spit it out and looked at the piece in his hand and immediately thought it looked like a rat. He ''freaked out'' in his words, started taking pictures of it.

He made a video. He says he brought it home and then started posting those images on his Facebook page. It went, as they say, viral. However, the owner of the franchise in Compton, Tony Frazier, told me by phone ''it was definitely not a rat. It's chicken. We don't have pre-formed tenders. It's cut from white meat. Sometimes you get unusual shapes. It's not uncommon.''

Frazier says customer service and cleanliness are his highest priorities and he's never had a problem like this. KFC's corporate office says it thinks this is a hoax because in another picture you can see a bite and what KFC says is clearly ''hand breaded white meat chicken''. Dixon, who is employed by the security firm that provides security for the Fox TV center, says he's a regular KFC customer and knows what chicken tenders look like. "It is what it is. It looks like a rat.''

His attorney now has it, in a plastic bag in his freezer, and plans to find a lab to test it.
