In the accompanying video piece, you'll hear some interesting reaction, but for now let's look at how you can cut down on your shower water use. Burbank Water and Power official Joe Flores says that if you have a standard shower head you are probably using about 2.5 gallons of water per minute. If you shower for five minutes you are using 12.5 gallons. If you shower for thirty minutes it is 75-gallons. There are shower heads you can purchase that will reduce the water flow to 1.5 gallons per minute.
